The South West is the most important agricultural region in the country - as well as being a major tourist destination, home to two national parks, World Heritage sites and a host of fragile and important landscapes.

The CLA is the membership organisation for owners of land, property and businesses in rural England and Wales.  We offer our members leadership and professional advice, and we use our expertise and experience on rural matters to promote our members' interests and to influence decision-makers.  We speak for everyone who believes in a living and working countryside.

The CLA in the South West not only represents the interests of the people who own, farm and manage the land, but it also campaigns for the kind of vibrant and healthy rural economy which supports the beauty of the landscape, the diversity of the environment and the populations of our villages and market towns.

John Mortimer is Director with responsibility for the overall management of regional business and membership; Lucy Wright is Assistant Director and Paul Millard is Communications Manager and edits the regional magazine. We are fortunate in having two regional surveyors,  Charlotte Sealy and Graham Clark who are both based in the Hartham Office and Sarah Fern who is our Events and Partnership Manager.

To make communication with the regional team easier we have introduced a single telephone number for all the staff in the region. If you dial 01249 700200 your call will be answered by one of the team at Hartham Park, where our office is manned five days a week between 9.00am and 5.00pm. Which ever of the regional staff team you wish to speak to, you will be connected or a message will be taken if they are not available.

If you are interested in membership or just in finding out more about the CLA just call the regional office on:

01249 700200 – Whoever you need, whatever you want, one number does it all.
