Woodfuel - a few places left on Finnish tourA few places remain on a tour of Finnish forests organised by the Forestry Commission for those interested in supplying or using woodfuel as a source of energy. There is a tour for sellers of woodfuel from 8-11 November 2009, and for buyers from 11-14 November 2009.
The tour will explain how woodheat became successful in Finland. A seminar and site visits will demonstrate some of the best of what has been achieved in Finland by applying an entrepreneurial approach to investment. This study tour will be tailored to explore supply and demand situations, similar to those found in the less experienced EU countries.
Delegates are asked to make a contribution of £150 towards the costs to confirm their booking, which is returnable if there are insufficient spaces. Those interested should contact Peter Thaxter at the forestry commission as soon as possible on 01420 22255, or peter.thaxter@forestry.gsi.gov.uk. Those with project ideas closest to the aims of the Woodheat Solutions project will be more likely to be selected. |
