Northern Farming Conference on course for second success

Northern Farming Conference on course for second success

Organisers of the Northern Farming Conference say that with an outstanding line-up of speakers and advance bookings flowing in, they are looking forward to an event that is looking to better the success of last year's inaugural conference.

The 2011 Northern Farming Conference is being held at the Hardwick Hall Hotel, Sedgefield on Thursday 3 November and features the Minister of State for Agriculture and Food, Jim Paice, as the keynote speaker.

Chair of the organising committee, Harry Chrisp, believes the event will be anything but dull, and will provide an insight into practical as well as political aspects of farming in the North today.

Mr Chrisp said: "Sharing the platform with agriculture's most prominent politician will be the respective presidents of the CLA and NFU, William Worsley and Peter Kendall, which is already proving to be a much anticipated, lively session.

"A great deal of effort has gone into putting the programme together, and delegates will also have the opportunity to learn from successful farmers and rural businesses who are willing to share their practical experiences."

Tickets are £35 and available now from www.northernfarmingconference.org.uk or by requesting a booking form on 01665 578681.

Speakers include:

Jim Paice MP- Minister of State for Agriculture and Food.
Peter Kendall - President, National Farmers Union

David Watson - Arable Operations Manager, Co-op Farms
