Kendal-based accessories company heads for the year’s biggest countryside event Thousands of people from across the region are getting ready for The CLA Game Fair, the world's largest countryside event, which takes place at Ragley Hall, Warwickshire on Friday 23 – Sunday 25 July. With up to 140,000 visitors and almost 1,000 exhibitors and attractions expected over the three days, this is the event of the year for anyone and everyone interested in the countryside. Importantly it provides local companies with an international shop window. One such exhibitor is Kendal-based Cherchbi, which will be promoting its Herdwick and British leather bags, handmade leather belts, brass key fobs and silk scarves designed and entirely made in Britain.
Adam Atkinson, founder of Cherchbi said: "This is the first time Cherchbi will show at the CLA Game Fair. In addition to exposing the Cherchbi brand and our range of leather bags, belts and other accessories to fair visitors we will also be previewing of our Herdwyck Collection of Herdwick tweed bags. The bags are made of a unique new Herdwick tweed developed over a three year period. This cloth is spun, woven and finished in the British Isles. The bags are trimmed with a British leather; originating from Hereford Cross cow-hide from Northern Ireland and pit-tanned in Derbyshire. Each bag is traditionally crafted in England." Douglas is from an Aberdeenshire farming family and trained as an animal nutritionist after graduating from the University of Aberdeen. He held technical and management positions in the agricultural supply industry for 20 years prior to joining the CLA in 2001 as North West Regional Director.
