Ben Fogle’s ‘Escape in Time’ filmed at Shropshire estate A new TV series presented by Ben Fogle follows two families each week who take up the challenge of becoming Victorian farmers on a CLA member's estate in Shropshire. The twenty x 45 minute episodes, filmed at the Acton Scott estate, are now on air daily (Monday – Fridays) at 4.30pm on BBC2. The series follows two families each week as they step back in time to learn the traditional skills of our rural ancestors, competing against each other in daily and weekly challenges: from mucking out the pigs to making a perfect cottage loaf. The family that wins the most challenges wins that week's prize. Produced by Lion TV, the same team behind Victorian Farm and Victorian Farm Christmas, the new Escape in Time series has been described as being like "The Generation Game meets the Good Life." Many familiar faces from TV's Victorian Farm, are on hand to give advice and assistance and judge the contestants' handiwork. The production team drew inspiration from Acton Scott Historic Working Farm's daily programme of activities with the families challenged to try a number of these tasks, judged by many of the Historic Working Farm's expert resident demonstrators. CLA member, Rupert Acton, who manages the estate, said: "Everyone at Acton Scott worked hard to support the production of this new television series and it was hugely gratifying to see how much the contestants enjoyed discovering the rural life of yesteryear, with some saying they were reluctant to return to 21st living and all its gizmos!" CLA West Midlands director Caroline Bedell said: "This is an excellent boost to our rural economy. The show might encourage even more tourists to visit this beautiful part of the world." Anyone visiting the Farm will be able to see demonstrations shown in this new television series. There are also opportunities for visitors to 'have-a-go', by joining one of the many courses in traditional crafts or trades. MEDIA CONTACTS:
