CLA Centenary Conference

The conference, hosted by John Humphrys, was a sell out. The delegates heard from HRH The Princess Royal; David Miliband MP, Environment Secretary; Simon Jenkins, journalist and commentator; Peter Ainsworth MP, Shadow Environment Secretary; Professor Allan Buckwell, CLA Chief Economist; David Fursdon, CLA President and Hugh Coghill, Head of Rural Property, Savills.

A Question Time style debate, chaired by John Humphrys, gave delegates the chance to ask questions to key industry leaders. The panelists: David Fursdon, CLA President; Fiona Reynolds, Director General of The National Trust; Helen Phillips, Chief Executive of Natural England; Tim Porter, Agriculture Director of Lloyds TSB and John Lloyd Jones, Chairman of the Countryside Council for Wales.
